Product Description The Atlantia is all that remains of humanity a former fleet frigate turned prison-ship now hunted by a terrifying force and crewed by an alliance of murderous convicts, exhausted soldiers and terrified civilians determined to confront the technological horror that has consumed mankind. Pursuing a Veng’en cruiser toward home, the Atlantia enters Chiron, an uncharted frontier system orbiting a dying star. Seeking supplies, the crew deploy to the small world of Chiron IV, hoping to replenish their dwindling stocks before continuing their journey. But Chiron IV harbours unseen dangers – a flotilla of corsairs, privateers and escaped convicts amassing a fleet of their own. Caught between the unruly brigands on Chiron IV and the forces of the Legion beyond the system, and with many crew taken hostage on the surface, Captain Idris Sansin must thwart the pirates and defend the Atlantia. With a crew tired of conflict, violence and drug-abuse afflicting the civilians and the pirate’s plan to flee the cosmos tempting even the strongest minds to reconsider their future with the Atlantia, the captain finds himself facing the greatest crisis of his command – the break-up of what little remains of humanity… Praise for Dean Crawford "The fossilized remains of a 7,000-year-old creature dug from the sands of the Negev Desert in Israel become the bones of contention in Dean Crawford's fast-paced debut thriller... The book neatly threads together a wild variety of plotlines." - Wall Street Journal “… cleverly introduced premise… assured pacing and plotting…” - Publishers Weekly “The action is frenetic, in the vein of Matthew Reilly’s Scarecrow series. Crawford is an able storyteller who smoothly orchestrates the plot’s twists and turns… ” Kirkus Reviews “… brilliant high-concept, high-octane thriller….” - The Guardian "A fast-paced and entertaining yarn." - Melbourne Age "Partly mythical read, part thriller this pacy tale is a page turner guaranteed to keep you up late." - The Sun "Get the cameras rolling—Indiana Jones meets Alien. What a combination of mystery, suspense, and unspeakable horror. I loved it!" - R.L. Stine “This is an amazingly good, intelligently told novel by an exciting new British author.” - Eurocrime "Earth-shattering intrigue, hyperdrive action and a desperate race to save humanity, cranked up to the max with scarily realistic science and apocalyptic religion thrown in for good measure . . . a major new talent has hit the mystery thriller scene!" - Scott Mariani ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dean Crawford began writing after his dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the Royal Air Force was curtailed when he failed their stringent sight tests. Aggressor Atlantia Series Volume 3 Dean Crawford Books Reviews

1) In space there are no shockwaves. Its space. There is no air. Remember Alien, In space no one can hear you scream...
2) if a we could translate extraterrestrial language they wouldn't be saying the equivalent of "yo mama" taunts. How about a different culture to go along with that language?
3) Characters not on board the ship can't have dialogue on the ship. No no no.
Looking forward to book 4 (I think.)
It has been a pleasure reading this series and watching the development of various characters through some unexpected plot twists.
Excellent follow thru from the first two books in the series and setting up of book four Endeavour. Looking forward to reading this and exploring the unknown.
Ok, I am writing this as a fan of hard science fiction. By that I mean if the SF does not adhere closely to known science, the author had better have a convincing hand-waving argument for why we should stick with him in spite of ignoring science. This part of this multi-book series takes a turn into the weeds on the hard SF front. Aspects of this shift were hinted in the first two, but the plot development was interesting enough to stay with the author for book 3, where everything fell apart. Examples implied acceleration of ion drives is too high by many orders of magnitude; density of asteroid fields is similarly way, way too high; the biology was superficially convincing, but looking deeper it just falls apart; the "Word" critters violate the second law of thermodynamics in several ways. Author also needs an editor that will actually read the book, not just put it through a spell checker contains many examples of incorrect words for the context that sound the same to the ear as the correct words (homophone is the term, I believe.) Do all authors use speech-to-text?
Good read. I'll finish the series. Couple of thoughts.
1. Sansin is an idiot. Has no idea or regard for Intel. Most of the trouble he was written into could have been avoided had he looked before he attacked.
2. The author must be a church hater. The Logos is NOT a pestilence, precisely and exactly the opposite.
Carry On.
I liked the theme of the series, but the side conflicts are getting a bit tiresome. I mean, how many times can you kill the same characters only to, oh look, they're alive.. again. Each character has its role, but there isn't much development from that role. Even the civilian councilors, one after the other as they are killed, act the same way, anti-military and self-centered. The marine leader doesn't give the captain the information he needs to solve a major issue. It only takes 10 minutes to say, "hey, this guy and this other guy are stabbing you in the back". The main characters should realize by now, later may not be an option, talk now.

So far the series covers about 2 years, but the poor captain is fighting the same internal battles, everyone wants to save humanity, but no one except the captain and one or two others acts like it. I would not be surprised if he eats his own pistol, writing off the human species as not worth saving.

I get it, the author wants to emphasize the faults of humanity, but I don't want to read in my fantasy what I get on the nightly news, at least without some progression to where the author wants humanity to progress.
This didn't work for me, I thought it was a spiral into stupid, didn't build on the good start of the series, rather hung from the previous high to keep this afloat. I really thought book one was pretty good, great plot, nice characters, good writing. Well maybe the project got multi-tasked to pieces, cause it falls apart I think. Repetitious, clichés, and boringly predictable, that's my take on this. I think the recipe for this needs a redo. And as always my usual squawk about the multi-part marketing plan of . Nothing wrong with a ongoing saga, but shouldn't there be resolution to each little segment?
Sorry Author, but you did ask.
I love this series. Mr, Crawford is a wizard with words. The tale is told in exquisite fashion.
